Majority of Latino Politicians are Democrats!

According to data from the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials (NALEO), the vast majority of Latino elected officials in the country are Democrats.

Of course this 2011 data includes non-partisan offices, so of the 5,850 officials included in the organization’s data, about 4,306 are either no party stated or sitting in a non-partisan office. Of the remaining 1,544 officials, 1,380 are Democrats (89%), 158 Republicans (10%) and 6 independent (less than 1%).
